This post is in response to the Incredible Blogger Marathon Challenge hosted by Its PH, a challenge that I believe all you bloggers out there must try your hand at. Give it a go, guys!

This is the final challenge.

At this point, I would also like to thank the host for such a wonderful, thought-provoking challenge. It has been a journey in its own right, and I’m wiser for it.

Happiness is a conscious decision.

Whatever an external being or thing can provide you is temporary, because once that vanishes, your happiness does too.

Happiness is finding the slightest joy in the darkest night.

Happiness is finding hope where there is only desperation.

Happiness is believing in a better future and striving to make that happen, for the sake of others if not for ourselves.

It is something that can never be taken from us until we allow it. Our happiness is our responsibility, and should not be forced upon someone else’s shoulders.

You are responsibly happy when you help someone else, because you empathize with what they’re going through.

You are responsibly happy when you say goodbye to something that you have been holding on to for too long.

Irresponsible happiness comes at the cost of others’ welfare, causing severe damage to people who may be the ones who truly love us.

Happiness is trying, and letting go.

It is leaving, but also coming back.

The gift that we all seek is, above all, life’s greatest irony.

Which is why you should never let someone else – no matter how wise or proficient he may seem to be, dictate what your happiness must mean for you.

Our definitions of happiness comes from our own mental state and personal development. What we seek at that moment, is simply a reflection of our spiritual age.

Just like a child seeks a toy at one age, and a pencil at another.

Seeking happiness in different things isn’t wrong, for it is a mirror on the true being that you are, at that point.

Be true to yourself always, even when seeking happiness when ironically, we tend to ignore our best interests.

That is, and will always be, the best way to grow.

I wrap this up with a question to you, the reader, through the words of the great Sufi poet Rumi.
