This post is in response to the Incredible Blogger Marathon Challenge hosted by Its PH, a challenge that I believe all you bloggers out there must try your hand at. Give it a go, guys!

This is the second of ten challenges.

You know those times when you take some time off and your eyes latch on something that has been near you all the time, and you wonder – Why didn’t I notice this before ?

Now that I take out my camera a lot more often, this happens to me a lot and I’ve begun to see just how much I’ve been missing out on. Little treasures were stowed away right before my eyes – in my own yard – and yet I failed to see it because somehow I was always on a rush.

I’m glad for all the new things I’ve discovered, and hope to see more. Photography was something I restricted myself to doing when I was off on some trip or the other, but then there’s something new happening every day, every minute of your life.

That’s why I chose to put one of the pictures I took on those short journeys outside my home. It’s a simple thing that arose out of a simple longing, but I’ve realized that it’s the simple things that make our lives beautiful.

There were a great many pictures to choose from, but there was something very special about this one that I chose. You can hardly call it a perfect picture of a perfect flower. It had started to wilt, and its petals weren’t symmetrical or particularly exotic.

Even then, every time I look at this picture I feel my eyes lingering for a moment longer. And that was my next lesson.

Beauty isn’t perfection.

Beauty is being comfortable and confident in our own identities. Beauty does not allow itself to be measured by scales or statuses or any of those human constructs.

Beauty is as pure as love, for it is what lies at the heart of every creation big and small.

    1. You’re way too kind – its kindness this world really needs. 🙂
And right? I usually don’t even like pink much, but then this picture changed that you know? Every color has its place in the spectrum I guess so we’ve gotta love them all. ❤

      1. Nah. Kindness is misused. What the world needs is to understand, respect and to see things from a different perspective.
Pink is one of my favourite colours. I said “one of” because I can’t, at different times, have the same favourite colour.
But yep. I guess it’s like how different people play different roles in our lives, all colours have their own place. 😀
